We are deeply honored to welcome Prof. Hiroshi Amano, as a Keynote Speaker in the International Workshop on the Physics of Semiconductor Devices (IWPSD) at IIT Roorkee. This Keynote will be delivered online.

Hiroshi Amano is a Japanese physicist, engineer and inventor specializing in the field of semiconductor technology. He was the co-inventor of the blue LED.

The International Workshop on the Physics of Semiconductor Devices (IWPSD 2025) is being jointly organized from 15th to 18th December 2025, by the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee and Solid State Physics Laboratory, Delhi in collaboration with the Society for Semiconductor Devices and Semiconductor Society (India). This series of biennial workshops which started in 1981, provides a global forum for interaction between scientists and technologists working in the area of semiconductor materials and devices.

IWPSD 2025 will provide good opportunities to researchers and students to interact with and learn from world-renowned experts in the area of

All the student (UG, PG, Ph.D, Post-docs, interns etc) participant (ladies and gents) will be provided furnished hostel accommodation at Rajendra Bhawan (https://maps.app.goo.gl/anM5LdUgbWtDSnh9A) within IIT Campus on twin sharing. This will be on a first come first serve basis.

The room rent which is to be paid through UPI on the day of arrival is Rs 1500/- (inclusive of GST) for all the days 14th to 19th Dec 2025, irrespective of the duration of the stay.

This will be collected by the volunteers in the hostel premises on your arrival. Mess facility may be availed by the student delegates on payment basis.
